Exponatec Cologne

Den 24 september prisades Verket med medlemskapet i Club of Excellence för sin digitala in- och upplevelsemiljö i den gamla järnbrukshyttan i Avesta. I konkurrens med ett 20-tal tävlande museer och kulturarv vann Verket dessutom första pris i Dubrovnik för sin presentation. Lars-Åke Everbrand och Kenneth Linder från Avesta kommun lyckades med sin presentation av Verket fånga en överväldigande majoritet av de församlade deltagarnas röster. Priset delades ut av Dubrovniks borgmästare Ms. Dubravka Šuica under en prisceremoni i The Rector's Palace.

Som förlängning av den uppmärksamheten medverkar nu Verket vid den internationella mässan för museer, bevarande och arv, Exponatec Cologne, i Köln 14 –18 februari. Under dessa dagar arrangerar Best in Heritage ett symposium för Excellence club, dvs. prisbelönade och uppmärksammade museer och besöksmål. Lars Åke Everbrand och Kenneth Linder är inbjudna att berätta och åskådliggöra om idéerna, arbetet och visionerna bakom Verket och dess lekfulla interaktiva upptäckande och lärande av industrihistorien. Dessutom ges Verket möjlighet att under mässan informera om verksamheten då en utställningsyta reserverats under evenemanget. Mässan pågår samtidigt som Cologne fine art.

The Best in Heritage - Club of Excellence...

In the past four years several museum/heritage institutions, projects and artists have been presented in Dubrovnik. They were chosen for their excellence and shown at one place and time to the professional audience that came to listen and see why they were proclaimed the best. Sometimes, they are the best in their country. In other cases they have been granted an international award. Respecting the long and costly process of professional evaluation the numerous juries have gone through, - European Heritage Association proposes this list as the informal Club of Excellence. It is unique in the world of the concerned professions by the filtered quality they together represent.

This accumulation of quality within the framework of a unique event caught the attention of the organizers of Exponatec, the new and the ambitious fair for museums, conservation and heritage institutions' equipment. The European Heritage Association that runs The Best in Heritage and Koelnmesse that operates Exponatec has agreed to join forces in proposing the best quality as inspiration for professional excellence. In February 2006 we shall perform three days of The Best in Heritage - Excellence Club event in Cologne, during the Fair.
